Merry Christmas. I hope you all enjoy your time with your respective families or doing whatever it is you want to do. Don't do things just because you're expected to or because that's what has always been done. Remember what the holiday is for - Jesus' birth. Sure, it was actually spring when He was born, and we don't know the actual date. It's just a symbol. The fact is, God came to earth in human form. That's what 'Emmanuel' means - 'God with us'. Thanks, God.
"He grew up lbefore him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majest to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." (Isaiah 53:2-5)

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
